SVM vs SVL — Which AOV Control Panel Do You Need?

Choosing between a single-zone and multi-zone AOV controller is one of the most common questions we get from installers and M&E subcontractors. Here’s a simple guide.

The SVM Single Zone Controller suits stairwells, single-compartment corridors, and straightforward residential schemes where all AOVs operate together. Available in 5A and 8A versions, it’s compact, easy to wire, and EN12101-10 certified. Most of our single-zone controllers can also be networked up to 35 control panels for simpler multi zone applications.

The SVL Multi-Zone Controller is the right choice where different floors or fire compartments need independent zone control — common in multi-storey residential blocks under current building regulations. It supports up to 6 zones using additional motor group modules. The SVL can be networked to increase the total zone count. There is an optional HMI display which can be connected to visualize the smoke zone statuses in a central location.
