Thank you for your interest in our Ventlux Academy CPD Training ‘Delve into AOV’s and Smoke Ventilation’ course certified by the CPD Certification Service.
The cost will be £149.00+vat per person.
The course will be presented and has been skilfully developed by two AOV industry experts, with 50 years of experience collectively within this specialist field.
Basic Details
Located at; Riverside Works, Bridge Street, Dukinfield, SK16 4RX. The training will take place on your chosen day from 9am to 4pm, including refreshments, lunch (from outside caterers), merchandise and Certificate awarded upon completion. For any delegate that wishes to stay past 4pm we will allow a further 1.5 hours for a Q&A.
The Ventlux website accommodates a pre-paid booking system which will allow for a maximum of 10 people to book per day of training.
Course Content
- Isolation recap (candidates will be expected have had isolation training).
- Regulations and standards covered in brief such as ADB and BS EN for natural systems plus a brief overview of fan systems.
- LOCK OUT- explained.
- Aperture sizes for stair and lobby vents – explained.
- What to look for on an AOV service and best practices for servicing (2 hours on this topic).
- What to do when you experience a failed actuator.
- What to do about a failed controller in a network of closed protocol controllers.
- End of line resisters- explained.
- Actulux product range capabilities – why it is a useful universal brand for remedial works.
- Other controller bands covered in brief and what is closed protocol and how to remove/reset service lights.
- Advice on how to offer upgrades and the reasons why – going back to basic regs training.
- Practical product training on controls, actuators fitment on aluminium & pvc window applications, roof vent hatches and louvres plus a smoke shaft damper. There will be a full range of hardware on show on the day
- Practical and theory test including regulations and standards questions.
Ventlux Academy Certificate awarded upon completion
CPD stands for ‘Continuing Professional Development’ and it is not a regulated qualification as defined by United Kingdom devolved administrations.
This course is classed as ‘advanced level’ by CPD standards and is only suitable for individuals who are already working in the fire safety service and maintenance sector or those with an electricians background. We only cover ‘safe isolation of electrical equipment’ as a recap (as a precursor to further learning). Candidates must already be qualified to this level. Scottish regulations vary and will not be taught on this course
