AOV Compliance: What Installers Need to Know in 2026

Smoke ventilation systems in residential buildings must comply with BS EN 12101 and meet the requirements of Approved Document B. For installers, the key compliance points to check are:

Control panels must be tested to EN12101-10, with 72-hour battery standby. Many cheaper panels on the market don’t meet this requirement — always ask for evidence of certification, not just “designed to comply” claims.

Actuators must be tested to EN12101-2. Ventlux SA Drive and HCV chain drive actuators carry full certification.

UKCA marking is required for products placed on the UK market. All Actulux products supplied by Ventlux carry appropriate marking.
